Can you give me some ideas for food to take on a 2 day canoe trip?

Can you answer Badash’s question about Rafting?:

We’re going to be in a canoe for two days, but will be stopping in the evening to camp on land. We can’t have too much stuff because it all has to fit on the canoe. Any ideas?

PS - I’ve thought about taking pepperoni bread, but that’s all I can come up with.

    Rafting Feedback: cans! cans of tuna or salmon. canned corned beef. pork and beans. hot dogs. fruit cocktail.

    Rafting Feedback: peanut butter, crackers, cheese slices, trail mix, popped popcorn, chips, olives, fruit that doesn’t have to be refrigerated, beef jerkey

    Rafting Feedback: I always brought a few boxes of pop tarts on canoe trips because you have a lot of options. You can just eat them in the canoe, or you can cook them and make them completely different.
    Also, beef jerky is an excellent idea.

    Rafting Feedback: Hotdogs/polish/bratwurst, buns, small packets of mustard & ketchup, onion,

    a steak or 1 lb of ground beef, baked potatoe, carrots, to make hobo stews

    Dry soup mix - Mrs. Grass’s or Liptons

    Instant coffee and packets of dry cream & sugar

    Bisquick to make pancakes

    1/2 dozen eggs for breakfast

    Powder to make drinks like Kool-aid or Crystal Light

    A big bag of candy (not chocolate) you will need this for energy paddling and good for a treat anytime

    Remember tin foil and other things you’ll need to cook with on a fire.

    Measure everythign out for every single meal and put it in a zip lock bag ~ you shouldn’t bring anything back - or you didn’t really need it.

    Rafting Feedback: we always brought Beef Jerky, Energy Bars, Granola Bars, Trail mix, Dried fruit. don’t bring the Bread.. it’ll just get stale and moldy and the moist air. yuck. And don’t forget the chocolate/marchmallows and gramm’s for Samoas! lol. :)

    Being prepared to be water tight is primary..
    so the new super cling warp, Tupperware, Rubbermaid, Zip-Lock bags..
    As for food > > >
    that is your home work…!!

    Rafting Feedback: Since I don’t like carrying alot of weight when I pack food, I end up with things like hard salami, cheese, crusty type breads, dry soup mixes such as bean soups and noodles, coffee bags made up with instant coffee sugar and cream premade, small tins of meats or fruit., energy bars, and jerky and some sort of candy or sweet.

    Hope these ideas help a bit.

    Rafting Feedback: Vienna sausages, saltine crackers and lots of beer. Thats what I take.

    Rafting Feedback: Anything that’s compact already made. There’s alot out there nowadays that you could buy that’s healthy & gives you energy @ the same time. Just ask your local camping stores.

    Alot of water, lighter, sunscreen, bug spray etc.
    Wish I was going. I guess we won’t be hearing from you for a couple of days.
