How hard is it to build a carbon fiber kayak?

Can you answer noley98’s question about Rafting?:

I want to build a super light tandem kayak. My choice of materials is carbon fiber. I figured getting a boat plan is easy enough, but didn’t want to get in over my head trying to use carbon fiber. I currently paddle a carbon/kevlar single.

Rafting Feedback: i’d say use carbon kevlar to build it.

i wouldn’t say it’s easy but if you research it well, plan it out and take your time then it is very possible.

a friend of mine is making a wood/fiberglass playboat. he’s using wood because it’s for his FYP and i wouldn’t advise it. he’s creating a mold using his own plastic orbit fish. you should try making your mold of another boat in footlong segments. it makes it very easy to alter the dimensions of the boat in isolated portions.

do plenty of research and good luck

Rafting Feedback: Uh, you’re not gonna do this, I tell you that. It takes years of experience and lots of equipment to do stuff like this.
